Trying To Put The Fun In Functional

Remember when I used to make things and sell them? I’m trying again.

1. I make items that some people think are beautiful. Some people think they’re functional. A few of you think that they’re both. And they are! I know this from personal experience.

2. I have So Much Stuff. Just in general, without even categorizing any of it. I live in a glorified studio and between two people and one dog, we just have too much. Someone, somewhere is going to want it. Even if it’s just from a sustainability issue. Because every day, I get closer to just trashing almost everything.

3. Support a small, almost business! A part of business is understanding what people want. A part of that is trial and error.

A friend recently called me a craft queen. Another called me a hobby hoe. I’m honestly ok with both of these, and one makes me feel like I deserve a tiara! But honestly, think of this as throwing things against a wall, and seeing what sticks.

4. I’m putting it here instead of Etsy for a few reasons; I don’t want to pay a fee to start, I barely show up on Etsy due to algorithms and other social media behind the scenes aspects, and this is another take at a first step.

5. I won’t even bore you with the sob stories. Blah blah trying to pay bills. Blah blah can’t find a job in this economy. Blah Blah chronic condition. Blah blah sick pup.

6. Finally, there is probably something I create that works for you. Bags? Functional. Charms? Cute (and accessorizing is always in). Paintings? Home decor.

Some of the things I make are random. But they’re fun! I see people going to HomeGoods and TJ Maxx to buy similar things, and spend the money without blinking an eye. All of these are handmade with so much love (and maybe just a little rage), and you’re supporting a person who is just trying to survive.

Everything shown here is for sale (as well as some items not shown!). Pouches, bag charms, paintings, pumpkins for some reason – because Summerween and Augtober will give way to actual Fall and Halloween, and you should be ready. Just reach out (please!).

Start small, grow. That’s the goal. Consider this the seed.
